Ethan Frome
Life is always hard for the poor, in any place and at any time. Ethan Frome is a farmer in Massachusetts. He works long hours every day, but his farm makes very little money. His wife, Zeena, is a thin, grey woman, always complaining, and only interested in her own ill health. This book was really deep for me. I think there is no hope. After mother dead, Zeena and Ethan got married, but after that she became sickly. And Mattie came his house for helping housework. Zeena and Ethan were husband and wife, but Ethan attracted to Mattie. They became love triangle. Zeena noticed that her husband and Mattie loved each other, and she chased Mattie out of the house. Eventually, Ethan and Mattie attempted suicide, but they didn't die. After effect of suicide, Mattie became a handicapped person. It's difficult for me to read, because this book has many unknown words. And also this book was not interesting or happy story. I want to read happy ending story. Edith Wharton, Eth
